How to Choose a Reliable Probate Assistance Provider in the UK

Choosing a reliable probate assistance provider in the UK comes down to four things: clear pricing, a defined service scope, real experience with estates like yours, and a named person who actually handles your case.

Start by deciding how much help you need. For a simple estate, you can apply for probate yourself through the GOV.UK portal. For anything involving property, Inheritance Tax, business assets, or a dispute, professional help usually pays for itself by avoiding costly mistakes.

Always check pricing before you commit. A dependable provider tells you upfront whether they charge a fixed fee, an hourly rate, or a percentage of the estate, and what that fee does and does not cover. Percentage-based fees on a large estate can run into many thousands of pounds, so a fixed fee is often far better value.

Ask about scope. Will they only obtain the Grant of Probate, or handle the full process: valuing assets, completing IHT forms, settling debts, and distributing the estate? Make sure you know who your day-to-day contact will be, because with many firms you are passed between junior staff or a call centre.

That last point is where I am different. At Maximum Inheritance, you deal directly with me, Ade, from start to finish. I offer a personal, fixed-fee probate service for estates across England and Wales, with no hidden costs and no call centre. You can read exactly how it works on my probate assistance page, or get in touch for a free, no-pressure conversation about your situation.
